Course Overview

Advancing living wages in global supply chains is a powerful way for companies to strengthen supplier relationships, support long-term resilience and build trust with consumers and investors. This e-learning course is designed as a choose-your-own-journey experience, allowing learners to explore modules most relevant to their living wage journey — from getting started to taking collaborative action between buyers and suppliers.

The course introduces specific actions companies can take to make progress towards achieving the UN Global Compact Forward Faster Living Wage Target 2, with a focus on creating joint action plans between buyers and suppliers to pay living wages across supply chains. Learners will gain practical guidance on engaging suppliers, aligning expectations and co-developing shared responsibility for paying living wages. Real company examples and interactive decision points will help participants understand what meaningful action looks like in practice and how to chart their own next steps.

Developed by the UN Global Compact in partnership with IDH, this course provides practical guidance to companies on progressing toward paying all employees — and eventually all workers in their value chains — a living wage.
